Congratulations To Another Very Successful Belt Testing Class for March!
This month's testing class is demonstrating the growth of Kinect Martial Arts with a large testing class. Visitors from Scotland, school owner Mr. Brian Jay, his wife, Patrisha, and son, James, attended the examination with Mr. Jay being kind enough to be at the examiner's table.
After the testing, Mr. Jay made an entry in our guestbook, stating:
Well done to everyone who tested yesterday, you all did a great job. Well done, Miss Jamie on those double breaks. Thanks also to Master Steve and Ms Shelly for allowing me to be part of grading[testing]. I enjoyed it very much., Looking forward to classes next week and very much looking forward to the seminar.
semper fi.
As usual, I have photos that I took (only 400) and videos that I shot. To get the photos and videos edited will take some time and I am busy at work (56 hours of work last week =<) and I am testing for my black belt on Friday, so I do not have alot of time to devote to editing the photos and video. I will try to get it done by next Monday, March 31st.

Congratulations For A Very Successful February Belt Testing Class! This month's testing class demonstrated the Kinect Martial Arts techniques with excellence. Also, the new Black Belt Club red uniform made it's debut in testing (right).

Kinect Headquarters Brings In Old Friends To A Succesful Testing Event! The December 16 testing event, which I was again priviledged to participate in, was witnessed by two special guests, Mike Glass and Viet Vo, who sat at the examining table. Both Master Steve and Ms. Shelly have known these gentlemen for many years and began training with them in the early 90's. Mr. Glass has started a brand new school affiliated with Kinect Martial Arts International in Trinity, Florida.
Both guests were impressed by the students' performances and abilities. Mr. Vo topped the event off by breaking a board while holding it himself.
There were three groups of tests. The first group was made up of all color belts up to Brown. The second group were Black Belts and was one of the most impressive performances I have seen. The final group was made up of Brown belts that were earning their Patterns stripe leading up to this March's Black Belt Testing.
Monday's promotion ceremony on December 17 will be followed by a special Christmas Dinner. Come and celebrate Christ's birth this night with your Kinect friends and family, even if you are not testing!!! And if that was not enough incentive to come, there will be a DESSERT CONTEST (Yummy!) which will be judged by the staff. Make sure to bring your dessert!
A video compilation of all the board breaks by kids and adults at the testing is here. The Adobe Flash plug-in is required to play the video. Photos are in our gallery here.

U.S. Marine Corps Recruits Train At Kinect Martial Arts December 1st!United State Marine Corps Sargeant Jorge Granados brought over 30 Marine Corps recruits to Kinect Saturday for training in the art of Self Defense. Assisted by Kinect Head and Assistant Instructors and headed by Master Steve Elrod, the recruits went through the basics of blocking, punching and kicking, ground techniques and real world attack drills.
Following the class, audience members and instructors spoke a little to express how proud they were to see the young men and women enlisting in the Marine Corps.
The class was a tremendous success and has resulted in multiple recruits signing up to return for more classes. Beyond that, the Marine Corps will be scheduling to return to Kinect for more classes with recruits.
This opportunity added to the legitimacy to the Kinect Martial Arts curriculum and we are proud to have helped the Marine Corps in their training of recruits.
We have video that was shot of the event (over an hour and a half worth) and took hundreds of photographs. A small number of the photographs are in our gallery. The rest of the photos will be uploaded as soon as possible. The video of the event is in process of being edited.
In response to the training event, Instructor Mr. Tony LoRusso has submitted this open letter regarding the event.
